Rio Rancho Dentist – Dr. Martin Goebbel
Born in Canton, Ohio, Dr. Martin Goebbel attended Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in 1976. He was inducted into Alpha Epsilon Delta, Ohio Delta Chapter for his academic accomplishments.
Dr. Goebbel received his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1978. While at Ohio State, Dr. Goebbel was a member of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity serving as President of Psi Chapter his senior year. He received The American Academy of Periodontology Student Award for his accomplishments in the Periodontal Program.
Dr. Goebbel completed a Dental General Practice Residency at the United States Public Health Service Hospital in San Francisco, California in 1979. He served as a Dental Officer in the United States Public Health Service, Indian Health Service from 1979 through June of 1988. During this duty tour, Dr. Goebbel was a clinical instructor in the Indian Health Service Dental Assistant Training Program, a clinical instructor in the University of New Mexico Dental Hygiene Program, as well as Infection Control Officer at SIPI Dental Center. He worked closely with both The Center for Disease Control and OSHA.
Utilizing the knowledge and experience gained, Dr. Goebbel designed Southern Boulevard Dental Center to be a state-of-the art dental facility which opened in July of 1988.

Meet the Staff
Mindy Riley – Office Manager
Mindy has been in the dental industry since she was 18 years old and worked as front office staff for her brother-in-law who is a dentist. She comes from a very dental oriented family – there are 7 dentists in her family! Her passion for dentistry has continued through the years and in 1998 she attended Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) and received her Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2000. She has been a Registered Dental Hygienist for over 14 years and is passionate about helping patients get to a healthy periodontal state. She is licensed in Utah and Arizona as an RDH and is pursuing licensure in the state of New Mexico at this time. She is also licensed for anesthesiology.
Mindy also has a passion for practice management and marketing and in the last few years has combined her talents with computers and dentistry to enable her to perform the role of Office Manager. She enjoys the different challenges she is able to undertake in this capacity.
She will also be able to use her skills in hygiene and anesthesia to assist when one of the hygienists is ill or on vacation, and to help out in the back as she is needed.
Mindy and her husband of 31 years have 11 children and 15 grandchildren who are the joy of their lives. They just recently moved to New Mexico and are very excited for the opportunities and challenges they have in front of them.

Mary T. – R.D.H., A.S.D.H, B.S.D.H
Mary T. became a dental hygienist because she always enjoyed working with her hands, helping others, and providing you with one to one attention. The field of dental hygiene has provided her with opportunities to help others improve and achieve their goals toward better health and well being. Mary graduated from the University of New Mexico’s Division of Dental Hygiene with an Associated of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and obtained her Dental Hygiene license in 1982. In 1983, Mary also received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from The University of New Mexico.
She started at Southern Blvd Dental Center in 1990 after seven years working in the Public Health Service dental clinics in Central New Mexico. Through the years, the evolving science of dental health and the technological advances in dentistry continue to interest her.
In 2008, Mary became Certified in Laser Pocket Debridement and Decontamination. She has been a member of the High Desert Dental Hygienists’ Society, the New Mexico Dental Hygiene Association, and the American Dental Hygiene Association since 1982.
Mary has been certified since 1983 as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider to provide CPR and since 2005 to use an AED (automated external defibrillator).

Kitty – R.D.H.
A Registered Dental Hygienist, Kitty graduated from El Paso Community College in El Paso, Texas in 1991 with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. After graduation, Kitty and her family moved to Albuquerque.
In 1991, she obtained her New Mexico Dental Hygiene License. After additional training at the University of New Mexico Dental Hygiene Programs, she became certified and obtained her License to administer Local Anesthesia in 1992. Kitty has been certified in CPR since 1991, in use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator) since 2005, and in Laser Pocket Debridement and Decontamination since 2008.
Kitty’s initial interest in oral health started while she was a dental assistant in 1968. Through the years, she has learned that getting to know her patients and their families gives her the potential to tailor optimal recommendations for their health.
In addition, the field of Dental Hygiene has given her the opportunity to give back to the community in mentoring dental hygiene students. Kitty has been active locally as Treasurer and then President of the High Desert Dental Hygienist’s Society.
In 1997, she served as President of the New Mexico Dental Hygiene Association. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and has been New Mexico’s delegate to the National Conventions.
My professional goal is to provide comprehensive preventative oral health care and patient education in a positive, motivating environment. My goal is to also influence the health and well being of every patient that I encounter.
Mary D. - Assistant
Mary D. is a 1988 graduate of the University of New Mexico Dental Assistant Program. She is a National Board Certified Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions and CPR Certifications. Mary has been with the Practice since it opened in 1988 and is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association.
To provide quality dentistry in an atmosphere where patients feel as though they are not just patients, but friends I like to share my time with.
Michelle - Patient Care Coordinator
Michelle graduated from PIMA Medical Institute in 2009 as a Certified Dental Assistant and since then has worked as a Dental Assistant and Office Administrator. Michelle is CPR certified and attends continuing education seminars.
"My goal is to care for each patient as an individual and to provide them the highest level of customer service. I will do everything I can to help each patient have a comfortable, enjoyable experience in our office."
Barbara – Dental Assistant
Barbara graduated from PMI in 1999 as a dental assistant. She has worked in a dental office ever since. As a dental assistant she is OSHA and COR certified and attends continuing education courses regularly. She has recently taken training in Sleep Apnea treatment and Cerec Same Day Crowns.
