Meet the Staff at Southern Boulevard Dental Corporation
Mary T. – R.D.H., A.S.D.H, B.S.D.H
Mary T. became a dental hygienist because she always enjoyed working with her hands, helping others, and providing you with one to one attention. The field of dental hygiene has provided her with opportunities to help others improve and achieve their goals toward better health and well being. Mary graduated from the University of New Mexico’s Division of Dental Hygiene with an Associated of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and obtained her Dental Hygiene license in 1982. In 1983, Mary also received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from The University of New Mexico.
She started at Southern Blvd Dental Center in 1990 after seven years working in the Public Health Service dental clinics in Central New Mexico. Through the years, the evolving science of dental health and the technological advances in dentistry continue to interest her.
In 2008, Mary became Certified in Laser Pocket Debridement and Decontamination. She has been a member of the High Desert Dental Hygienists’ Society, the New Mexico Dental Hygiene Association, and the American Dental Hygiene Association since 1982.
Mary has been certified since 1983 as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider to provide CPR and since 2005 to use an AED (automated external defibrillator).
“My mission at Southern Blvd. Dental Center is to help others improve and achieve their goals toward better health and well being. It is my goal to provide all of my patients with the same service and care I would want to receive if I were the patient.”
Kitty – R.D.H.
A Registered Dental Hygienist, Kitty graduated from El Paso Community College in El Paso, Texas in 1991 with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. After graduation, Kitty and her family moved to Albuquerque.
In 1991, she obtained her New Mexico Dental Hygiene License. After additional training at the University of New Mexico Dental Hygiene Programs, she became certified and obtained her License to administer Local Anesthesia in 1992. Kitty has been certified in CPR since 1991, in use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator) since 2005, and in Laser Pocket Debridement and Decontamination since 2008.
Kitty’s initial interest in oral health started while she was a dental assistant in 1968. Through the years, she has learned that getting to know her patients and their families gives her the potential to tailor optimal recommendations for their health.
In addition, the field of Dental Hygiene has given her the opportunity to give back to the community in mentoring dental hygiene students. Kitty has been active locally as Treasurer and then President of the High Desert Dental Hygienist’s Society.
In 1997, she served as President of the New Mexico Dental Hygiene Association. She is a member of the American Dental Hygiene Association and has been New Mexico’s delegate to the National Conventions.
My professional goal is to provide comprehensive preventative oral health care and patient education in a positive, motivating environment. My goal is to also influence the health and well being of every patient that I encounter.
